Contrasting Zebra makes ideal first toy

By Heather Chambers | March 22, 2010

Jelly Kitten’s black and white zebra is ideal for newborns who can see contrast better than colour in their early days. Toys in black, white, red and other strong contrasts are perfect for getting baby’s attention and helping them develop muscle co-ordination skills like object tracking with their eyes.

The zebra has a convenient loop with a velcro closure which can be used to attach it to cot bars, car seats, bouncers etc. As your baby gets older he may find the plastic rings around the hooves are good for teething on. Until  then they will keep him entertained as they clack together, especially when dangling from a moving pram.

Pictured is the ’small’ zebra which stands at around 9″. Available from John Lewis £8.95
